In the ending scene where all the new Avengers (Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch) appear, Joss Whedon wanted to add Captain Marvel in the place of Scarlet Witch. But there were no Captain Marvel projects in the MCU back then and there were no actresses to be cast as Carol Danvers. Future Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson was pretty much an underdog back then. So Whedon had to digitally add Elizabeth Olsen's face on top of a stunt double to portray Scarlet Witch.
