The show was canceled after one short season for two reasons: First, the show was put up against Disney's Recess, which was a much bigger hit; Second, Bob Doucette stated in an interview that the show wasn't what The WB wanted even though it was one of the highest-rated shows on the Kids WB block. Also, there was a troubled relationship between the show's production staff and the executives at Warner Bros.
