Dialogue from Jess pertaining to Blaire and Mitch's relationship and Blaire's regard for Adam were edited to be drowned out by the argument between Mitch and Adam, as the affair between Blaire and Adam and Mitch's response were deemed more crucial plot wise. Because of the set editing decision, actress Renee Olstead's clarification of Jess Felton's interest in Adam is left only merely as an implication in the film.
