Just before Anakin becomes Darth Vader, he saves Palpatine's life. Just before Darth Vader dies in Il ritorno dello Jedi (1983), he throws Palpatine down a column that leads to the 2nd Death Star's reactor core to his death. This creates a birth and death parallel with Darth Vader and Palpatine.
