The climax of Silsila was being shot in Filmcity. A fire sequence when the plane crashes. Sanjeev Kumar is caught in a fire and Rekha rushes to save him. Amitabh and Jaya also reach that location to save Sanjeev .While Amitabh rushes to save Sanjeev, Jaya grabs Rekha and pushes her out .This was the scene that was suppose to be shot. Just before the scene was to be shot,Rekha told the camera man, the shot should be canned in 1 take. Rekha stated she would refuse to do any retake for the scene. She told the cameraman she was not bothered if he got the shot properly or not. She was going to leave. The shot started,Jaya pushed Rekha, but unfortunately,Jaya too moved out of the frame by accident. Jaya was suppose to turn around and face the camera still in the same frame. Instead her duppatta in her shoulders, slipped off her and that remained in the frame. Rekha knew the the shot misfired but did not care. She went and sat in her car. The cameraman himself did not believe Rekha was serious or else he would have informed Yash Chopra. The entire unit stood there stunned. Amitabh was sitting in his chair watched the drama unfold. He gave Jaya stern look asking her what happen. Jaya was in tears and told Amitabh she did not say anything to Rekha . Rekha refused to come back and shoot the scene.
