Mark Goodson was not optimistic about the show at first because it was so heavily defendant on sponsor plugs and prize copy. He felt the audience would lose patience with endless prize descriptions. It may have appeared that way on paper, but the various creative minds that developed the show felt it was so entertaining and so filled with variety that the audience would not get bored easily.
