The title of this film (and the book it is based upon) comes from John Lennon's song "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)." Author David Sheff famously interviewed John Lennon and Yoko Ono in the months leading up to the release of their album, "Double Fantasy" in 1980. John Lennon was murdered 3 weeks after its release, on Dec. 8, 1980.
