(at around 10 mins) As Gaff (Edward James Olmos) takes Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) to see Bryant (M. Emmet Walsh) in his flying police spinner, a brief shot of a monitor appears which displays an "ENVIRON CTR PURGE (24556 DR 5)" screen, followed by an animation of what looks like a clamp releasing a lock. The same PURGE screen was also used in Alien (1979) (also directed by Ridley Scott), as Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) starts up and launches the shuttle (the "Narcissus"), and the lock release animation could be seen earlier in the movie when the Nostromo breaks away from the refinery that it is towing, and initiates the landing procedure to the planet. Fans have speculated that this connection could mean that both films exist in the same universe, something which has been strongly suggested by Scott himself in 2012.
