This film and The New Mutants (2020) were originally supposed to merge in a future crossover film that adapts the Inferno saga from the comics. However, with the acquisition of Fox by Disney, such plans were forcibly canceled and as a result, several scenes from both films had to be re-shot or deleted during their re-shoots that were meant to set up future sequels.
