California: Ties That Bind (1988), California: Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out: Part 2 (1989), California: My First Born (1990), California: House of Cards (1991), California: The Price (1992), California: A Death in the Family (1993), California: Call Waiting (1993) and California: My Kingdom for a Horse (1993) are the only episodes of California (1979) in which neither Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford) nor Valene Ewing (Joan Van Ark) appear. As such, these are the only episodes of the series not to feature any character who appeared in its parent series Dallas (1978).
