In Dante's Inferno, there are Nine Circles of Hell known as Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. In As Above So Below there are nine floors which correspond to Hell. La Taupe is found on the first floor, Limbo, wandering the dark forever. On the second floor, Lust, there is the deafening sound of a vortex, the sound is as described in Dante's Inferno. Fourth floor, Greed, treasure is found but cannot be obtained. Seventh floor, Violence, Souxie is killed violently and Scarlett finds her dead father hanging. Eight floor, Fraud, Benji is killed. Ninth floor, Treachery contains Satan on a throne.
