The last film Mithun signed with an "A" grade set up in 1994 (Director, Co stars). He would then shoot films in Ooty for the next 6 years and return to Mumbai with the film Elaan. The movie repeats the Mithun-Atul combination after Mahesh Bhatt's Naaraaz.
