As of 2022, Christopher Chittell is the longest-serving cast member, having played Eric Pollard since 1986. The longest-serving female cast member is Charlotte Bellamy, who has played Laurel Thomas continuously since 2002. (Claire King, Lisa Riley, Samantha Giles and Nicola Wheeler, who play Kim Tate, Mandy Dingle, Bernice Blackstock and Nicola King respectively, joined the cast before Bellamy, but both have taken breaks from the show.)
