Throughout the run of the series, a cawing crow is heard in nearly every establishing shot of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. This tradition was parodied in season seventeen, episode seventeen, "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bangalore", in which a cow is heard mooing during the establishing shot of an India-based nuclear power plant although on rare occasions shots of the power plant do not contain the crow caw.
