Almost all the work for the movie was done in Switzerland. Pre-production, set decoration and filming were all done in the country, and most of the main cast members are Swiss, except for Anna Katharina Schwabroh (Laura), Pierre Semmler (captain Lacroix), Claude-Oliver Rudolph (Prokoff) and Maria Boettner (Arianne), who are from Germany. Most of the post-production work, including the elaborate special effects, was done in Switzerland. Only the final sound mix was done in Germany, and composer Fredrik Strömberg, who is from Sweden, created the score as he was traveling around.
