To add realism to the series each character has their own distinct badge number: Detective Elliot Stabler's shield number was 6313.Detective (later Lieutenant/Captain) Olivia Benson's shield number is 4015 (and then 01139 as a Sergeant).Detective John Munch's shield number is 0231.Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola's shield number is 3198.Detective Nick Amaro's shield number is 0840.Detective Amanda Rollins' badge number is 0458.Detective Dominick Carisi, Jr.'s shield number is 0188.
