During the scene where Batman and Catwoman return to her apartment to talk to her roommate and girlfriend, Annika, they end up inadvertently watching news coverage about the death of Commissioner Pete Savage. Batman and Catwoman see news footage of The Riddler holding Savage hostage before he (The Riddler) killed him (Savage) with The Rat Trap. In Il cavaliere oscuro (2008), the scene where Bruce and Alfred inadvertently watch a news coverage before Harvey Dent's party is similar. Bruce and Alfred end up seeing news footage of The Joker holding hostage and taunting Brian, a Batman impersonator, before killing him. In both scenes, before the creepy footage of a major Batman villain is shown on the news program, the Gotham newscasters warn viewers that what they are about to see is disturbing.
