Survivor Lou Kasischke, a consultant on the movie, published his account of the Everest tragedy on which this film is based in his book, "After the Wind". The book details his experiences as a client on Rob Hall (Jason Clarke)'s expedition during the 1996 Mount Everest Tragedy.
