There is a scene of Manson knocking on the door, of Sharon Tate's home on Cielo drive, in an attempt to find and confront Terry Melcher for not agreeing to set Manson up with a recording contract. In this movie, it is Sharon Tate who answers the door, and tells him that Melcher had moved out, she is even friendly and invites him inside. In reality, it was Sharon's photographer Shahrokh Hatami who answered Manson's knock at the door, and told him that Melcher had moved out. He also directed Manson to the guest house, where property owner Rudy Altobelli was living, to ask him about Melcher's location. Altobelli told Manson to never disturb his tenants again, and ordered him off the property. It is said, that this is what set in motion the idea for the murders.
