According to a CNN report, James Cameron visited the Brazilian rain forest more than once after receiving outcries from tribal leaders inspired by his film. During one visit, Cameron was akin to a real-life Jake Sully; with warpaint on his face, and a spear in his hand, he met with 18 Indigenous leaders to plan a battle to stop the construction of a proposed dam.
