Though Lansbury and Bea Arthur were never able to guest star on each other's shows, Rue McClanahan (who plays Blanche in The Golden Girls), did appear in one episode the same year Golden Girls premiered. There are other several guest stars who played recurring secondary characters and one-off love interests.
