Death features overtly in 4 of the 6 stories, and impliedly in 2. Within the prose being recited onstage, the performances begin with Ozymandius, by Shelley, who drowned at age 29 and whose fate foreshadows that of the young actor. Tyne Daly also wears black, as though in mourning or herself already buried, and being escorted by two self-proclaimed "reapers", together with the two other passengers. The luggage is left onboard, as it will never be required now that they have arrived at their final destination.
