At different points in the film, Coraline is seen wearing a black Baker Boy hat with a symbol of a Lotus flower on the front. In Greek mythology, the Lotus eaters were a group of people that lived on an island dominated by a Lotus tree. When the inhabitants ate the Lotuses, they would completely forget their home and loved ones, and want only to stay with their fellow Lotus eaters; A theme which the plot of the film is built upon.
