The film had to be slightly edited for its UK theatrical release. Scenes of sailors being burnt by a leaking steam pipe were trimmed slightly and a couple of uses of the expletive "shit" were drowned out in the sound mix. The theatrical re-release in 2022 (to celebrate 60 years of Bond movies) still maintained the cuts.
