(at around 1h 30 mins) Loki's armor in this movie is based on his dress in the "Agent of Asgard" comic, where he sought to change his destiny and become a hero, or at least not be seen as a villain anymore. This movie references this when Thor tells Loki he will always be the same, and this inspires him to try and be genuinely heroic.
