Following its debut screening at the Venice Film Festival, the movie received a long standing ovation (some sources say it was 14 minutes, others say it was a 11-minute standing ovation, but there is no video showing how long it actually lasted). However, following its Venice premiere and Netflix release, the film received mostly mixed and negative reviews from critics and audiences alike.
