After Laura Vandervoort's audition for the role of Kara Kent/Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in Los Angeles, California, she was told by the producers "Don't leave, just wait outside" to which she replied "Don't worry, I won't take off." meaning she would not fly back to Canada. The crew, however, understood she meant literally flying back. "Everyone laughed, and I realized I had made a joke, seeing that Supergirl can fly. I simply meant I wouldn't get back on a plane, but they didn't need to know that."
