Fjölnir is stated to have been overthrown by Harald of Norway. That would be Harald Fairhair who, in the Icelandic sagas, is credited as having driven many Scandinavians into exile to Iceland due to his tyrannical rule. Most of Norway had converted to Christianity when these sagas were written, and the exiles often took their pagan belief systems with them.
