This film is a collaboration between Oren Peli and Shane Van Dyke. The latter directed Paranormal Entity (2009), which was a mockbuster of Peli's film Paranormal Activity (2007). It was released by The Asylum, a production company best known for releasing mockbusters of popular films at the time of their release.
