Jason impaling the couple on the scooter with his machete resembles a similar death in Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) where Jason impales a couple in bed with a spear. That scene itself was similar to one in Mario Bava's Italian slasher Ecologia del delitto (1971) (1971).
