While it may seem hard to believe now, Pikachu was actually the first of Ash's Pokémon to disobey him. Other Pokémon that would do so, and be better remembered for their disobedience besides Pikachu, were Primeape and Charizard. However, in an ironic twist, it was Charizard (then as a Charmander) that Ash used to defeat and capture Primeape.
