Thaddeus Stevens (R - PA) intimidates and demeans fellow Pennsylvania Representative Alexander Coffroth (D - PA) by mockingly calling Coffroth "cough drop". Per the Johns Hopkins archives, an early form of the modern cough drop was made in 1847.
