The California Institution for Men is commonly known as "Chino", and is a state prison located in the city of Chino, San Bernardino County, California. "Gladiator academy", is a reference to how a prison is a place where you learn to fight in order to survive. In such a place, Charlene's son would end up being a career criminal.
