Robert Loggia's character Feech La Manna was meant to be a Season 5 antagonist before shooting but he clearly found it too hard to remember/do his lines so he got cut to only 4 episodes. It was likely due to him later being diagnosed dementia and Alzheimer's. It is reported that it took hours longer than it should have for his scenes due to his difficulties. Gandolfini was super supportive, patient and helped him do his lines during the whole thing, never complained.
