The end sequences with the two male officers rushing the Ross residence serves as a homage to the ending of Paranormal Activity 3 where Katie & Kristi's grandmother is revealed as aiding a malevolent entity in murder as well as corrupting a female daughter. Both the Grandmother and Alexis Ross don the same matching gown and shockwire sets of grey hair and have a set up room full of markings and pictures pertaining to their dark secrets.
