Unless, Wild Bill Hickok found it hard to live in peace which would keep starting his time over and therefore placing him with Doc Holiday. This problem with living in peace could explain a lot of plot holes reasonably.
The movie states that it's s been "almost" 10 years since Wild Bill died, setting the tear at early August 1886.
