(at around 1h 23 mins) After Dr. Loomis tries to shoot Michael Myers with the empty pistol and is stabbed with the surgical knife there is thick, dripping blood all over the instrument. Dr. Loomis then covers his wound with his hands and falls beside one of the hospital beds. Once Laurie has shot Michael's eyes out Dr. Loomis pulls the gas tank tubes out of the wall with one hand and holds a lighter in the other hand to ignite the fumes, but his hands are completely clean.
