The flag seen waving at the Alamo is a Mexican flag with the Eagle replaced with '1824'. The thought being the Texians, and Tejanos were fighting to restore the Federalist Constitution of 1824 that Santa Anna abolished.There was an 1824 made. Texian officer Philip Dimmit wrote to General Houston that he had a flag similar in design that said, 'Constitution of 1824'. There's no evidence that flag ever flew at the Alamo. The only flag known to be used, as it was captured by Mexico and still in their possession, is the New Orleans Greys unit flag.
