After the truck takes out the two wrecked cars in the entrance of the chop shop and the unmarked Caprice that the other three detectives are hiding behind, neither they nor Axel consider taking Todd's car which is parked right next to them with the keys in the ignition, and even after Axel pursues in the Dodge Stealth, not one of the other three cops considers taking Todd's car to assist him after realizing that Todd has been shot dead.
