The end credits show the US sailor tinkering with the cellphone left by Larry when he jumped into the V-J Day photograph. Off camera, the sailor's mother calls him, Joey Motorola, whom responds that he's on to something with this cellphone. The 'V-J Day in Times Square' photograph is from August 1945. The Motorola Company was founded in 1928 in Illinois. During WWII, the company manufactured radios for the US military.
