When Egbert is thrown the Monkey Wrench by James (the driver) across the hood of the car, Egbert catches it with the adjustable side down in his right hand. He then reaches up with his left hand and is holding it with both. Suddenly, in the next shot, Egbert is holding it only with his right hand and the adjustable end is now pointing up.
