Whenever the Djinn grants a wish for anybody other than Alexandra, she telepathically witnesses the effects of the wish happen, yet when the Djinn grants Wendy's wish to release her from her fear so he can kill her and take her face, Alexandra never sees this wish happen. Obviously this is for plot convenience so the scene where Alexandra visits Wendy at her apartment only to discover it's the Djinn in disguise can play out.
