At the very start of the film, the camera pans down from the top of the trees. The porch lights are on and the front door of the Doyle residence is open. As a direct continuation of the first film we see Laurie instructing the kids and they run for help, the porch lights completely off and the door opened by Tommy. When Dr. Loomis goes to look for Michael the porch light is back on and he runs out of an already open door.
