Just before Ned and Matty have sex the first time, Ned had left, returned to his car and then came back to the house finding Matty waiting and pining for him inside. The door is locked so Ned destroys the front window to get in the house to Matty. It would seem that Edmund Walker would ask Matty or the housekeeper what happened to the front window but he never inquires about why its destroyed.
