After Doctor Fate's shield around the palace falls, none of the members of the Justice society use their superpowers to try to reach Fate and Ishmael quicker. Hawkman and Cyclone don't fly and Atom Smasher doesn't grow. Instead they all just run up the lengthy stairways up to the throne room, giving Ishmael plenty of time to kill Doctor Fate.
