The delay created by the manager only put the mine farther behind in production. At no point could anything he planned have ever created a profit for him or for the mine. However, buying "futures" in the mine, can make a profit, if the production is delayed so the share price goes down ; but the real motivation for the delay, was to kill the witnesses who knew about the methane sensors being turned off.
