When Pesci's character's helping DeNiro's character with his disabled truck, Pesci claims he found a loose timing chain on the passenger side of the engine. Timing chains are internal & at the front of the engine behind the fan. Pesci grabs an item that appears more like a belt or wire, when timing chains are metal & not visible on assembled engines.
