When Mr. Green operates the gadget to start the detached car on its final trip, he rotates the vertical pipe clockwise (as seen from above), but from inside the cab we see it rotate anticlockwise -- pushing the controller handle from full power to full brake instead of vice versa. The car then moves off slowly, as if it is under low power or coasting downhill.
