The women setup and use a map to track the movements of the men in their lives. But this would not really have been possible. Men going into combat were under orders not divulge where they were going and what they were doing. Mail was heavily censored in those days. And even the press cooperated by not reporting anything about troop movements, planning, etc. Only once an attack had begun was it talked about.
