Having failed to stop the young Iracebeth from banging her head, Alice could have traveled to a slightly earlier time and prevent young Mirana from stealing the tarts in the first place, or spoil the tarts so that they taste bad. She didn't do any of those things because she understood what Time was trying to tell her - no matter what you do, you cannot change the past, it will simply repeat itself, even if in a slightly different way, in this case Iracebeth hitting her head against the stone rather than the clock.
